Hi Everyone ...

Amie is pregnant!  Very exciting news, and much Congratulations to both her and her husband ... However it does mean that Amie is now on a non-negotiable Time Line for finishing work.  A date has not been calculated yet, but as the baby is due in early December we expect that Amie will be likely to finish treating in only a couple of months time.

So, this is an URGENT call for Expressions of Interest to anyone out there who is a Fully Qualified Musculoskeletal and/or Remedial Massage Therapist, or an Acupuncturist who is also qualified in Remedial Massage, and looking for work.

I am looking for 2 Female Therapists - 1 Initially offering 2-3 days each week starting immediately, and a 2nd to start when Amie declares she will finish ... hours of availability can be negotiated between the new therapists, ensuring a Female Therapist is available each of the 6 days clinic is open and balance the appointment book with a Male Therapist.  The successful applicants will round us up to 4 Therapists (2 Male and 2 Female) and 2 Part-time Receptionists.

We have been experiencing continued solid and sustained growth over the last 4 years, and can boast a healthy client list of over 1650 people, attracting an average of 10 new clients every week.

Any Therapist interested in working here must:

            *     Hold a Diploma of Remedial massage as a minimum qualification;

            *     Be a current and financial member of an approved Professional Association (eg: AAMT, ANTA, etc);

            *     Have current Professional Insurance;

            *     Be able to provide Health Fund Rebates, and be included on our clinic HICAPS Terminal;

            *     Be enthusiastic, personable and focused on giving their best to achieve optimal results.

We attract clients from many walks of life, and our current client base includes all sorts of people from Serious Athletes to Mr & Mrs Average, Adults and Children alike, some entire families.  We average about 10 new clients every week, and have done continually for over 4 years now.

If you would like to express your interest and have a more in-depth conversation about the vacancy, please contact me (Tony) here in clinic - 3352 5334 or via hfhremedial@optusnet.com.au , to arrange a time to come in and chat.

Hi Everyone ...

This is a call for
Expressions of Interest to anyone out there who is a Fully Qualified Musculoskeletal and/or Remedial Massage Therapist, or an Acupuncturist who is also qualified in Remedial Massage, and looking for work.

In the immediate future, I require a Male Therapist to work as Locum in this clinic to replace myself while I am on holiday through December 2010/January 2011.  This would be for a period of 6 weeks - working between 3-6 days each week - agreed before I leave.  Ideally, the incumbent would also like to stay on after I return and assume an ongoing role in this clinic as our plans for expansion come into being.

On the subject of expansion for HANDS from HEAVEN ... I am also looking for a 2nd Female Therapist to work in tandem with Amie.  Initially I can offer 2 days each week starting immediately, with a view to increasing these hours over time.

Any person interested in working here must:

            *     Hold a Diploma of Remedial massage as a minimum qualification;

            *     Be a current and financial member of an approved Professional Association (eg: AAMT, ANTA, etc);

Hi everyone,

Just a quick note to let you all know that we are helping to raise much needed funds for the Royal Children's Hospital Christmas Appeal this year.

As you are all probably aware, the Royal Children's Hospital has an annual fund raising drive more commonly known as the Kid's Christmas Appeal.  It has been my desire for the longest time to contribute to this annaul event by raising funds through my clinic.  Volunteering at the hospital has made it easier to get into the action and so we now have a donations tin on our Reception Desk here in clinic.

We do not push people to donate anything, the tin simply sits there and if people want to drop some spare change into the tin it is always much appreciated.  I just wanted to put this post up so that people are aware that if they want to contribute to the Kid's Christmas Appeal they can do it through us in clinic.

The tin will be here - ready and waiting - up to about December 10th or so.  I will be taking it in to the hospital for donation before I go on holidays at christmas, so if you want to help out with a few coins just keep this date in mind.   Thanks for that, and we look forward to seeing you next time you are in clinic.

Greetings one and all ... the time has finally come that I can get some pictures taken here in clinic to dress-up the website a little bit more.  It will be noticed most of all on the "Massage Styles" page, but I might be able to pop a few images in on other pages too ... we'll see how we go.

I have been wanting to get these images taken for a long time now, but it has turned out to be today and I should certainly be able to have the website re-vamp all completed by the first anniversary of the release of the site on September 21st.  Stay tuned and check us out regularly to keep up to date with the changes ... Thanks for that and stay healthy!

Hi everyone ... business has been quite busy here at HANDS from HEAVEN, and I have not been as up-to-date with the website as I would like to be, but I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Jordan our new Part-time Receptionist.

Jordan works our desk for 20 hours each week - Wednesday to Saturday - taking bookings, fielding enquiries, and helping to ensure you get to interact with a real person here in clinic as much as possible.  There will still be times that telephone calls go to our answering machine - when Jordan is not working and either/both Amie and I are busy with clients - but those instances should be fewer now that Jordan is working here.  I have set her hours for the busier times of the week to start with, and as business continues to grow stronger I will be able to increase Reception hours to cover more and more of the working week.

Please always remember that if you call clinic during our standard opening hours as listed on the 'Contact Us' page of this site and get the answering machine, we are here and we do know that you have called.  Our focus here in clinic is on our clients, and if we are with someone when the phone rings we wont stop a treatment to answer it.  If there is nobody available to answer the phone we need you to leave at least your name and contact number so that we can call you back.  Usually it will only take about an hour or so to return your call, but if either of us are here alone and it is a particularly busy day it may take a bit longer.  Please be aware though that we always return messages on the answering machine as quickly as we can.  Also, please remember to speak clearly when leaving a message so that we can understand what you have said and get the correct number to call you back on.

Hopefully we will have Full-Time Reception sooner rather than later, but part of that depends a little on just how busy we get here in clinic.  Thank you all very much for supporting us and giving us the opportunity to provide you and the greater community with high quality Remedial Massage at competitively affordable prices.  It is through your support and patronage that we can continue to do what we do ... Thank you very much.

Hi,

I thought I would use this blog to see if I can attract new therapists without the expense of advertising on SEEK.COM or the like.

We have been open here in Stafford for 3-and-a-half years now (just Amie and Me) and business has grown very well.  We now boast a client contact list of over 1000 people, and I feel the time is right to look to expand our Therapist base so that we can offer more availability for our clients.  Therefore I am looking for 2 more Therapists to join us here in clinic - 1 Female and 1 Male.

Applicants need to be enthusiastic, personable and focussed on giving their best to achieve optimal results.  Initially I am offering 2 full days each week, to both new therapists, with a view to increasing this time depending on comittment and demand.  You should have Current Professional Insurance, Membership to a recognised Association, Diploma of Remedial Massage as a minimum qualification, and the ability to offer Health Fund Rebates and be included on our clinic HICAPS Terminal.

We attract clients from many walks of life, and our current clints base includes all sorts of people from Serious Athletes to Mr & Mrs Average, Adults and Children alike, some entire families.  We average 5-6 new clients every week, and have done continually for over 3 years now.

My vision is to create a Multi-Modality Clinic focused on Wholistic Care for our Community.  My vision sees Musculoskeletal and Remedial Massage as Primary Therapies (and the cornerstone of my clinic), and includes other modalities like Acupuncture, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Kinesiology, etc to flesh out the more Wholistic side of the practice.  I would also like to develop a schedule of evening classes/sessions in Yoga, Floor Pilates, and Meditation as the practice expands and we move into a house with greater floor space available.

If you would like to express your interest and have a more in-depth conversation about the vacancies, please contact me (Tony) here in clinic - 3352 5334 or via
hfhremedial@optusnet.com.au , to arrange a time to come in and chat.

Dave Hodge is a regular here in clinic, incorporating Remedial Massage into his training regime to keep his body in optimal condition so that he can consistently achieve his best in competition.

Congratulations Dave on your achievements so far, and particularly this win for the 2/14 LHR.

Hi everyone,

When technology starts it just doesn't stop!  It has taken me a while, but I have finally started a Fan Page on Facebook for the clinic - the page name is (obviously) HANDS from HEAVEN - Musculoskeletal and Remedial Massage Therapy.

If you have a Facebook account - and in reality, nearly everyone does - why not have a look at it and become a fan.  You can use our Fan Page as a way of communicating to the wider community what you think of our massage by writing on our wall.

That's about it for this posting, so have a great day and we'll see you next time in clinic.

Young Queenslander Matheson Klein has put up a gallant fight before bowing out to former Wimbledon semi-finalist Xavier Malisse in the first match on Pat Rafter Arena at this year's Brisbane International.

The 20-year-old, who grew up playing on the tennis court outside his family's pub in the tiny country Queensland community of Theebine, stretched the ponytailed Belgian but ultimately succumbed 7-5 6-3.

Malisse, a former top-20 player who is now ranked 94 in the world, will now meet another Australian number eight Nick Lindahl for a place in the men's singles main draw after he came from behind to record a 6-7 6-3 6-4 qualifying victory over compatriot Joel Lindner, the son of State of Origin legend Bob Lindner.

Klein, ranked 858 and appearing in, by some margin, the biggest match of his young career, began without fear against the vastly more experienced Malisse, breaking the 29-year-old in the fourth game.

However, the long-time poster boy of Belgian men's tennis, who like most of his career is being overshadowed in Brisbane by celebrated countrywomen Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin, broke back immediately.

With a combination of wily touch and slice from the backof the court, Malisse battled hard to find a way to deliver chinks to the armour of Klein's slugging game as both continued to hold serve.

His moment came at 5-5 as a jittery Klein buckled slightly on serve, committing three errors to give Malisse two break points. He pounced with the clinical precision of an ATP tour veteran of 11 years and held to take the set 7-5.

Malisse again broke his younger opponent early in the second set, and despite Klein's brave effort to graft his way back into the match, it was an advantage the Belgian did not surrender.
