The History of HANDS from HEAVEN
My name is Tony, and Hands from Heaven is my Remedial Therapy business.
I started my work life in the Queensland Government at 18, but by 32 I decided to change careers and do something I wanted to do rather than stay somewhere I didn't want to be.
In February 2000 I started a 2-year F/T Diploma of Remedial Therapies at the Australian College of Natural Medicine - ACNM (now Endeavour) and started HANDS from HEAVEN as a Mobile Relaxation Massage business in March 2001. After graduation of my diploma in December 2001 I expanded my business to include Mobile Remedial Treatments.
Between 2002-2005 I maintained the mobile aspect of my business but also contracted into other Professional Health Care Clinics to broaden my knowledge and experience – these included working alongside Chiropractors, Physiotherapists and Personal Trainers.
In 2006, I took seven months off to travel the world with my partner – 24 countries in 28 weeks. What a trip to recharge my batteries!
In January 2007, I established my very first public clinic in Stafford … and at the same time, I also re-enrolled at ACNM to upgrade my qualification to the Bachelor of Health Science (Musculoskeletal Therapy) … another 2 years of full-time study – coinciding with building a new clinic … It was hard work, but well worth it in the end!
From 2009 I focused on building my clinic and business. During these years I built a team of dedicated and skilled therapists, and together we have been able to build a strong and reliable service for our community. My team has changed and evolved over the years – but our focus and dedication has held strong and true.
I have always had a great passion for teaching the Remedial Massage Diploma - helping to develop the next generation of quality Remedial Massage Therapists – and I have been fortunate enough to be employed as a Remedial Massage Trainer at different times and locations over my years … and most of my team are graduated students that I taught.
In December 2021 we relocated HANDS from HEAVEN … After 15 years in Stafford, clinic moved to Chermside, and we have experienced solid business in our new location enabling us to cement ourselves into our new community.
As I grow into my late 50’s I am starting to think about my Exit Strategy from the industry that has been my life for over 25 years, but rest assured I am absolutely committed to maintaining my position in clinic at least until the Brisbane Olympics in 2032!
The Future Is Bright for Our Massage Clinic
We continue to enjoy a busy clinic, building a stronger business along the way. We are expanding not only our clinic but also the therapies we offer, and this supports our Therapeutic Philosophy that everyone is individual & unique!
In March 2022, we introduced Counselling to our service offerings (through DāR Counselling & Jess Pascoe Counselling), and we are looking forward to opening a new treatment space at ground level, providing easier access to our services for people who find it challenging to ascend stairs.
We love what we do and how we can help you feel, and this drives us to always provide the best Remedial Massage Treatments we can, and this is clearly reflected in the continually growing strength of business here at Hands From Heaven.
