Therapeutic Yoga with Alison
Hands from Heaven have partnered with Alison from Clear Skies Yoga to promote the beneficial connection between Remedial massage and Yoga. Stretching is widely recognised as a great aspect of Self Care between your Remedial Massage Treatments, but so many people can’t find (or don’t make) the time to stretch … and Yoga could be seen as ‘Supervised Stretching’, helping you look after your body while nurturing your soul in a calming and supportive environment.
Alison’s yoga is perfect for beginners, injury rehabilitation, pregnancy sessions, couple’s yoga (you and your partner or a friend), and anyone looking for private 1-1 yoga classes.
My name is Alison Sykes, a registered Level 2 yoga teacher with Yoga Australia. The classes I offer through Clear Skies Yoga deliver the transformative potential of a dedicated yoga practice.
A Clear Skies Yoga session is a space where you can practice radical self-acceptance. That is, you welcome all the parts of yourself, especially the parts you like the least. Simply put, yoga is a sanctuary from the pressures of life.
I believe in integrative principles of alignment, through which each student of yoga can cultivate their own focused attention, joyful expression, and deep compassion for themselves and others.
A one on one yoga session is an opportunity to practice guided yoga in a supportive, non-competitive environment. The benefits of yoga are many and varied, and include but are not limited to:
- Reduced stress and anxiety
- Improved posture
- Effective breathing technique
- A more balanced, strong, and flexible musculoskeletal system
- Higher self-esteem
Yoga therapy works with injury and health conditions using adaptations of the practices of yoga to support a multi-disciplinary approach to well-being. One on one yoga sessions are personally tailored to help each student of yoga to create their own optimal practice, and deepen your understanding of alignment or extend your practice.
Yoga and massage are wonderfully complementary. Massage always helps me to understand which parts of my body are working harder than they should be, and with the guidance of a great therapist, where I could build greater strength to support better alignment. I’m a great believer in the healing power of touch and always warmly encourage my yoga students to find a therapist they feel comfortable and safe with.
If you believe in the value of investing in yourself, then yoga is for you. I would love to support you to create a pathway to your well-being. You are welcome to phone me on 0423 104 989, or email me on firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
